TONIGHTS TRACK

February 22, 2010

Sufjan Stevens – The Majesty Snowbird – Live Oct 5, 2005 – NYC Truly gorgeous song and brilliant with a full orchestra. Ive seen Sufjan 8 times over the past 5 years. No live version that Ive experienced beats the evening at the Brooklyn Academy of Music when they featured Sufjan Stevens BQE Experience. The power behind the song, and a stage full instruments, was breathtaking. I had a bit of an obsession with this song. And it wasnt necessarily the need to listen to the song but, I incessantly searched for an mp3 to put into my pocket – vs. having to stream from a blog. Ive learned that there are no proper studio cuts available out there – only live recordings. This is one of the better recordings out there. Oh, and if you can find a decent mp3 of this song, please send it along! Photographs by: Vincent Cornelli Photographed for: brooklynvegan.com

The more we pursue material improvement…

February 21, 2010

The more we pursue material improvement, ignoring the contentment that comes of inner growth, the faster ethical values will disappear from our communities. Then we will all experience unhappiness in the long run, for when there is no place for justice and honesty in our hearts, the weak are the first to suffer. And the resentments resulting from such inequity ultimately affects everyone adversely.

ROMPING THROUGH THE STREETS OF BUSHWICK, JAN2010 – BROOKLYNSTREETART.COM

These were the photos of the street art amidst street artist, jef aerosol, that sunny winter saturday.
at one point early on, i asked if it were ok to shoot some shoes that were hanging from a telephone pole.
he said, yes, go right ahead.  quite patient, and even took out his own camera to photograph them,
alongside of me.  From that point forward, I took great liberties to also photograph everything that I found me.
Heres a post done for BrooklynStreetArt.com

And I think Steve and Jamie deserve much credit for putting together such a great event.
I feel very fortunate to have been a part of it all.
