Sufjan Stevens – The Majesty Snowbird – Live Oct 5, 2005 – NYC Truly gorgeous song and brilliant with a full orchestra. Ive seen Sufjan 8 times over the past 5 years. No live version that Ive experienced beats the evening at the Brooklyn Academy of Music when they featured Sufjan Stevens BQE Experience. The power behind the song, and a stage full instruments, was breathtaking. I had a bit of an obsession with this song. And it wasnt necessarily the need to listen to the song but, I incessantly searched for an mp3 to put into my pocket – vs. having to stream from a blog. Ive learned that there are no proper studio cuts available out there – only live recordings. This is one of the better recordings out there.
